Boyz II Men & KCI & JoJo @ Enmore

*Warning* I'm just back from the concert and on an absolute high so the next post will read like it's written by a teeny bopper.

We Went to the last Boyz II Men concert (it feels like yesterday can you believe that was '05??) so we knew exactly how good this one would be but the added bonus was that KCI & JoJo were coming out with them this time. Originally they were only doing one show and these tickets sold out in 15 minutes! (they added another 3 shows as a result).

The standing area was sealed off into sections, we paid for tickets to be at the very front of the stage. It was money well spent! (Thank you Joel for lining up).

The Support Acts

The first support act was a guy called Mike Champion (he was actually alright he had a bit of the Usher thing going on), second was some girl called Natasha (I can't say I'm a fan) and then there was some random American girl who danced around and sang in a white bra top.

At 8:00pm the lights went dim and the crowd cheered as KCI & JoJo came on stage.

I didn't get to go to their concert in high school so this was me really making up for lost time. They were absolutely fantastic!!

At one stage KCI jumped onto a security guard's shoulders and they took him in a circle through the audience. He came so close I could almost touch him!
JoJo drank from a water bottle and threw it into the audience....guess what? I caught it!! I'm not really sure what I'm going to do with it, but it was very exciting when it happened. They sang for a full hour before they left the stage.

At 9:30pm the moment everyone had been waiting for........(that's the crowd behind us)

"Boyz II Men are back A-gain..."
Look how close to the stage we got - smack bang in the middle too, the crowd was also really good and it wasn't squashy like some other concerts that we've been to.

Shawn thanked us for the 15 years of support and for being the group that bought the tickets for what was originally their first show. He asked us to sing along to some of their songs and I watched as Nathan mouthed the words 'Wow' as he watched the crowd. It must be pretty amazing watching people from half way across the world sing to your songs.

They mixed up the night with some new songs from their new album and some old favourites (Bended knee, Water runs dry, Song for Mama, 4 Seasons of loneliness, I'll make love to you and End of the Road to list a few) .

It was a fabulous night and I'm really glad I went, the photos from 2005's concert is here and the photos from tonight is here if anyone is interested.

Kanye West & U2 @ Telstra Stadium

Up until last night, this was the closest that I had ever come to Bono of U2

Vegas 2002

I must admit that up until now, I've never been a massive fan of U2 but I knew that I wouldn't forgive myself if I didn't go see one of the (if not THE) biggest band in the world. I am also a big fan of Kanye West and after seeing him live in concert earlier this year I couldn't wait to see him again. At a little over $100 a ticket this concert was a bargain!

Telstra Stadium - someone said that over 80,000 tickets were sold for Saturday night's concert

I was a little bummed because I didn't think cameras were allowed in, so I didn't take mine and only had my camera phone. The photos turned out ok and despite the crowds we got pretty close to the stage.

Left: the crowd behind us Right: Kanye west on stage
Having seen Kanye perform live before, I don't think that this concert did Kanye any justice. It was early and the crowd was still slowly building. The venue wasn't quite right (it was hard to hear him clearly) and It took him a little work to get the crowd hyped up.
We waited another 45mins after Kanye finished for the sky to get dark and for U2 to come on stage. The weather couldn't be more perfect, warm but with a cool breeze and the crowds were all well behaved! People were friendly and no one pushed.
Just before they came on all the light's went off and there was this moment of calm and silence that I just can't describe. Minutes later the screen lit up and U2 burst onto the stage, the crowd went nuts! I am so glad that I went because it's one of those moments in my life where I wouldn't have known what I missed unless I went.
I went to this concert thinking that I wouldn't know many songs, I was so wrong! I sang along to almost every song that they sung.

U2 voiced their message of peace....
Bono asked everyone to pick up their mobiles and to hold it in the air, I looked around the stadium and the sight was amazing!
When I said the crowd was friendly I wasn't kidding! There was this man next to my sister who was concerned that she couldn't see because she was short. So he picked her up and threw her on his shoulder so she could see the stage....it was hilarious! And it wasn't one of those 'creepy old men moments' either.
We left just before the last song so that we could beat the crowds, what a night to remember!

Kanye West @ Horden Pavilion

We were excited! Originally the plan was that we would meet up with Joel at 5:00pm, have dinner at Fox & Lion then make our way to the show. We got there at 5 and the line was already round the corner. Because we were eager beavers I waited in line whilst the boys went to buy take away.

The support acts - Daniel and Che'nelle

The place was packed out with all sorts of people, most were extremely young which left me wondering since when did kids have so much money to go to concerts?!?! People were pushing and shoving like crazy! but everyone wanted prime position.

Initially we were pretty close to the front with only 10 or so people in front of us, it was hard work maintaining our spot. The pushing coupled with the heat made it unbearable! and people got more aggressive as they waited. At one point Jacky fully cracked it at a bunch of girls who kept pushing and shoving in front of him.

After a while people started to relax which all changed when HE came on. All of a sudden there was this big push from the crowd behind me. I felt my feet lift off the ground as I was caught in the wave of people. I was actually scared and I remember turning to a girl in front of me and whispering...I can't breathe! But I waited 4 hours for this so I wasn't going anywhere!

He was amazing!!! charismatic, energetic, he totally captivated the audience. I mean, I've always been a fan but watching him live just took things to a whole new level. I think being so close added to the whole experience.

"Diamonds are forever..." You tell em Kanye!

He danced so hard during one of his songs that he actually sprained his ankle, as a result we were treated to a whole range of things unplanned. Here he was having a drink on stage with the crowd chanting "He's a piss head through and through...go! go! go! go!" he played to the crowd and sculled a whole drink with the crowd cheering him on.

He came on stage just after 9 and didn't finish till after10:30pm singing a few of his hand picked "never performed" extra songs to make up for the lack of dancing so that "we could get our moneys worth". Woot!

At every concert we go to, we always swing the camera around to take a picture of the crowd. This wasn't done purposely but if you look at the front you can see Muz, Viv and Matty. I had such a shock when I loaded my pictures tonight.

What a memorable night! even with all the dramas of the crowd I came out thinking how lucky I was to witness him perform in person myself.
