Things Guys should never say to Girls

I had put off writing this post in case the person involved came and read it. Seeing that it hasn’t ceased to amuse me, I thought I’d share.

A couple of weeks ago I went for drinks with a bunch of old friends when one of these friends who I will now say is a really really nice guy (RRNG), tried to play me a compliment it went something like this:

RRNG: “Emily! Your back to normal!”
Me: “Oh what do you mean?”
RRNG: “When I saw you a few months ago outside the cinema you were HUGE! But you’re back to your normal weight now!”

Now at this point I thought I heard wrong but he even used hand actions to signal
<--------this big--------->. I wasn’t offended, more amused and a little shocked that I would be referred to as huge??

Me:
“Errrr I’ve kinda been the same weight this whole time, may be it was what I was wearing?”

I may have heard the next line wrong, but I’d be 95% sure that he said:

RRNG: “Your legs were really stumpy” *chuckles* and uses his hands to make the ‘stumpy’ hand action.

I didn't know quite what to say so I just laughed?

------------------------------------------------------------------------
When I was at work today I showed Alex the pic below to which he replied: “You look really Big in that pic”, so when i gave him the O_o look he tried to argue that calling someone big is not the same as calling someone fat. Whilst I admit to having fat cheeks in photos ‘Big’ would probably not be a word you’d use to describe me. Alex I think you should shout me dinner, so you can make sure that I am not over eating how does Thursday sound??

Big? What the freak is wrong with these people?! You should drag them to the optometrists to get proper glasses instead of using coke bottles THEN make them shout you dinner.

ps. You look great as always :)

Ems, your the fairest of them all! As for being Big?!? I guess that makes the rest of us gigantic then, i thought the lift felt a little smaller on Saturday night!

LoL thanks Vicki. See that's why i find the whole thing so amusing. All through Uni i was always worried I looked too thin and i'd never wear all black in case i did.now that I am at a healthy weight i get'Big'comments?

It's kinda makes me aware of how critical people can be (they don't always say it, but the fact they think it, especially when I consider myself to be quite slim).
I always thought girls were the Bigger critics but maybe i was wrong.

Betty: I must have been me clogging up the lift!

For everyone else who find this whole post a little bit stupid - I do apologise but i ran out of things to blog about! have a good day all.

Emily. Big. Those two words just don't go together. Maybe "big hearted", but never just plain "Big". You look gorgeous in the photo btw, I love the hair!!

You are so vain

Anonymous: Look, my blog is a light hearted read for my friends and people that know me.

If you think that I am vain then you don't know the first thing about me. However you are entitled to your opinion but at least have the balls to show who you are.

Hmmm....I don't quite get it. What is vain about questioning the male approach to women??? Anyone with some social skill would know that you would not exactly go up to a girl and tell her she looks big....on that note, if that was to happen, it would be quite a laugh for all those involved, hence the blog that Emily has done on it.

Anon, I could probably take a guess that you are far from vain as you most probably cant bear to look yourself in the mirror and are jealous of anyone who is able to without breaking it....but when you decide to use a word, ensure you have the correct meaning. There is nothing 'vain' about Emily or her blog at all.

Sarah, =)

Cyn, I hope you're feeling better! you going to come to Matty's?

Lex, are we doing dinner Thursday? I still have your birthday present sitting on my desk.

Listen here retard, I feel it is right to use the term retard when I refer to anon, because it obviously fits the person that you are. I belive I am not using the term retard inappropriately, as you are with the term "vain", medically the term retard may be defined as "a pattern of persistently slow learning of basic motor and language skills during childhood, and a significantly below-normal intellectual capacity as an adult".

See, so anon, this must be the reason why you cannot seem to even losely use correct terms such as "so vain", and you find it challenging to put your real name in your post...
